Sun King wins 3 awards at the 4th Solar Week Kenya Leadership Awards

Sun King, the company that brings solar power to 128 million people, has won 3 awards at the Solar Week Kenya Leadership Awards 2025. Firstly, the company was crowned "Solar Company of the Year - Financial Innovation". This award recognizes Sun King's efforts to offer innovative financing models, such as pay-as-you-go, and its recent collaboration with Ecobank Zambia. Its solutions enable low-income households to acquire solar equipment without prohibitive upfront costs, thus promoting energy inclusion.

The company, founded by Anish Thakkar, then received the "Outstanding Product Innovation of the Year - PowerHub Series" award. The award recognizes Sun King's PowerHub range of smart home solar systems. This product range was recognized for its ability to provide reliable, affordable power to off-grid homes. This innovation reflects Sun King's commitment to designing products tailored to the specific needs of African communities.
