Odoo is a Belgian publisher of all-in-one management software that enables companies to manage a wide range of logistical aspects. In Australia, many small businesses also use Odoo as in-store checkout software, via its Point of Sale module. This module is used in physical stores to manage sales at the cash register, like a digital cash register. But for payment to take place, this software needs to be connected to a payment terminal. Until now, in several countries, including Australia, Odoo was not natively compatible with local terminals. The merchant therefore had to manually enter the amount into the terminal, which led to errors, wasted time and double entry (in Odoo and on the terminal).
By partnering with Tyro, one of Australia's leading payment terminal providers, Odoo now enables merchants to connect its software directly to Tyro's terminals. At the moment of purchase, the amount is automatically sent to the terminal, the customer pays, and the transaction is immediately recorded in Odoo. All this, without re-entering data, without wasting time, and with optimal accounting at all times. Odoo is not becoming a payment player, but enriching its ecosystem to offer Australian SMEs a local, fluid and fully integrated solution. "We're very excited about working with Tyro and offering a new payment solution to our end-users. Given Tyro's strong foothold in Australia, this integration was a no-brainer for us," said Kelian Buitendijk, Odoo's Country Manager for Australia.
