Sedna has developed a platform that helps maritime teams manage their operational communications, particularly emails related to ships, cargo, and port operations. The company transforms complex email flows into clear, assigned, and tracked tasks to avoid errors and delays. It is used by shipping companies, charterers, shipowners (such as Oldendorff, one of the world's largest private shipowners in bulk cargo transport) and logistics operators, who manage critical operations 24 hours a day. Specifically, customers using StormGeo and Sedna can now access their Sedna communications directly from the StormGeo platform, where weather and navigation data are already analyzed. Teams can read and send emails, share information, and track ship fuel operations from a single workspace, without juggling multiple tools.
Above all, this partnership makes it possible to link operational information to weather data. When a message is exchanged in Sedna, for example about a change in fuel quantity, a modified schedule, or a decision related to a delay, this information is automatically transferred to StormGeo, where it can be analyzed in light of the weather conditions forecast at sea or in port. This eliminates manual re-entry, reduces errors, and enables faster and more informed decision-making. Key documents, such as fuel delivery notes and supplier invoices, are also transferred automatically, streamlining post-refueling operations for both operational teams and accounting.
"Our customers have clearly told us they want fewer clicks and fewer manual tasks. By fully integrating Sedna's capabilities into StormGeo, we are bringing communication and analysis together in a single intelligent workspace. Every message can now fuel faster and more relevant decisions," explains Julie Louise Nielsen, Global Head of Fuel Management Solutions at StormGeo.
Since 2017, Sedna has established itself as a leader in its sector. Its platform now enables its customers to manage twice as many ships, increase operator productivity by 200%, and save each team member 10 hours per week through task automation and better organization.
