Spanish group Monbake, a major player in the industrial bakery sector and present in the Vintage FPCI Altaroc Odyssey 2023, has taken a decisive step forward in its sustainable development strategy by joining forces with GreenYellow. The aim of this strategic partnership is to commission a photovoltaic solar power plant in Noblejas, in the province of Toledo. The facility, located just one kilometer from one of Monbake's main plants, will cover over 25% of the site's energy consumption with green, local and competitive energy. The integration of this solar power plant is part of a global initiative to reduce the company's carbon footprint. The project will prevent the emission of around 1,265 tonnes of CO₂ per year, the equivalent of planting 6,250 trees.
This project also aligns with the objectives of the Noblejas municipality program, in line with the guidelines of the European framework and the "España Puede" National Plan, which promotes sustainability, digitalization and social and territorial cohesion. By integrating materials and resources sourced from local suppliers, Monbake supports the local economy while progressing towards its environmental responsibility objectives.
Founded in 2018 following the merger of the Berlys and Bellsolà companies, Monbake has rapidly established itself as one of Spain's market leaders in frozen bakery products. With nine factories and over 190 points of sale, the group distributes its products in over 30 countries under recognized brands such as Berlys, Bellsolà, Orio and Bertiz.
