VAST Data and SK Telecom are deploying some of the country's most powerful new computing infrastructure, built on supercomputers from NVIDIA - the first company to surpass $4 trillion in market capitalization - to support the development of South Korea's future AI models.
This project, called Haein Cluster, has been selected by the Korean Ministry of Science and Technological Innovation, and will play a key role in providing researchers, companies and public institutions with the resources they need to create innovations in artificial intelligence.
VAST Data is the central link in this innovation, providing the software backbone that makes this transformation possible, eliminating the traditional slowness and bottlenecks associated with managing massive data, notably with its new SyncEngine product, which makes it possible to manage trillions of files at the snap of a finger. Until now, setting up AI-enabled computing environments could take days or even weeks. With this new platform, SK Telecom reduces this time to just a few minutes. This speed of access, combined with performance close to that of the most powerful machines on the market, will enable researchers and developers to save precious time in testing, training and deploying their AI models.
