Why do students drop out of school? How can we help them regain their confidence and enthusiasm for learning? And what can we learn from solutions to school dropout rates to address the changes brought about by AI? These questions will be at the heart of the first Grand Forum on Education, which will bring together the educational community, civil society, experts, and political leaders.
Through this initiative, the AlphaOmega Foundation aims to bring major educational issues into the public spotlight and make them accessible to as many people as possible. Its goal is to create a space for dialogue where scientific knowledge meets real-world experience.
Understanding Dropout Rates to Take More Effective Action
Behind school dropout rates lie individual stories, challenges, and young people whose voices must be heard. Throughout the day, these discussions will provide an opportunity to explore what goes on in the mind of a student who is drifting away from school, as well as to discover the approaches used by those who help them reconnect with learning.
Teachers, researchers, organizations, psychologists, artists, and athletes will share their perspectives. This diversity of viewpoints will allow us to address school dropout from all angles and identify potential courses of action.
AI: A New Opportunity to Rethink Education
This first edition also aims to broaden the discussion: Can the lessons learned in the fight against school dropout help us navigate the upheavals brought about by artificial intelligence—in schools, universities, and businesses?
How can we maintain a desire to learn as tools evolve? How can we support these transitions and ensure that no one is left behind? The Forum invites participants to explore these questions by fostering a dialogue between educational challenges and changes in the world of work.
Well-known voices to fuel the debate
Notable figures among those announced include Boris Cyrulnik, Cynthia Fleury, Albert Moukheiber, Martin Hirsch, David Djaïz, Anne Alombert, and Jérémie Fontanieu. Their presentations will contribute to a collective discussion on the future of education, which will also be considered in the context of the 2027 presidential election.
Whether you are an educator, a parent, a student, a community leader, or simply interested in these issues, this event is an opportunity to gain a better understanding, learn about initiatives, and join the discussion.
Join us on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the CNAM, 292 Rue Saint-Martin, Paris 3rd arrondissement. Admission is free, but registration is required.
