Vector, which has been working for years to provide training, prevention, and safety tools to public safety professionals, sees this month as an opportunity to go beyond its technological expertise. Many Vector employees work on a daily basis with firefighters, trainers, or former firefighters, and some have been directly confronted with the disease in their professional circles. Launching this initiative for the sixth year means continuing to provide field teams with useful information, prevention tools, and time to talk about a real risk that is often invisible but affects almost every fire station.
Through several educational programs aimed at raising awareness, reducing risks, and supporting prevention efforts within fire stations, Vector Solutions reaffirms its longstanding commitment to the health and safety of firefighters during the sixth annual Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month. According to a study by the federal institute responsible for preventing accidents, illnesses, and occupational hazards, firefighters have a 9% higher risk of cancer and a 14% higher risk of cancer-related death than the general U.S. population, making this disease the leading cause of death in the firefighting profession.
"Vector Solutions' ongoing commitment to education, prevention, and direct support has a significant impact on firefighters and their families across the country ," said Lisa Raggio, CEO of the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN).
As part of its 2026 campaign, Vector Solutions is offering a series of three webinars focused on prevention, research, and best operational practices. To provide direct support to firefighters and their families, the American company will donate $5 to the FCSN for each registration for these webinars.
