Beewise

Did you know that 75% of the fruits, vegetables, and crops we consume every day depend directly on pollination? Yet, due to pesticides, pests, and global warming, bee populations are collapsing at an alarming rate worldwide, with nearly half of all colonies lost each year. Furthermore, traditional beekeeping is an extremely physically demanding profession that has hardly changed in 150 years.
Beewise was founded in Israel in 2018 to address this ecological and agricultural crisis. The company has developed BeeHome, a 100% autonomous, solar-powered robotic beehive. Inside, artificial intelligence and robotic arms monitor the swarms 24 hours a day. The system can detect and eliminate pests without chemicals, regulate the temperature during heat waves, feed the bees when necessary, and even harvest honey automatically.
The results of this technology are spectacular: Beewise’s hives reduce bee mortality by 80%, while increasing agricultural yields by more than 50%. Faced with this immense global challenge, the company has convinced prestigious investors (such as the Insight Partners fund) to back it with a total of $170 million in funding, enabling it to deploy its hives around the world and spare beekeepers 90% of the most arduous manual labor.
