CompanyCam has just taken a decisive step forward with a $415 million fundraising round led by Paris-based fund B Capital. This transaction, the largest ever carried out by a Nebraska company, propels the American company to a valuation of $2 billion. For years, young technology companies in Nebraska have struggled to attract national or international investors. CompanyCam proves that it is possible to create, develop, and finance a major tech player without going to California or near the capital. "This is a remarkable achievement for a company that is only ten years old," says Dan Hoffman, CEO of Invest Nebraska, one of CompanyCam's earliest supporters.
The story of CompanyCam began very simply. In 2015, its founder, Luke Hansen, was looking for a way to monitor construction sites in his family business. Unable to find a suitable tool, he created one himself. The principle has remained the same ever since. CompanyCam has developed an app that allows tradespeople, construction companies, and field teams to easily track the progress of their construction sites. Users take photos, add notes, and instantly share information with their teams, avoiding misunderstandings and unnecessary back-and-forth communication. The app automatically organizes images by project, records their location, generates reports ready to be sent to customers, and allows users to track the complete history of the work. The app is highly acclaimed in the industry, with more than 21,000 reviews giving it an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 in the App Store.
Year after year, CompanyCam grew without leaving Lincoln (the capital of Nebraska). In 2016, the company received a $50,000 innovation grant, which enabled it to develop its first version. It then attracted its first investors. In 2021, it raised $30 million led by Insight Partners, an international manager specializing in the software sector. The following year, CompanyCam raised $38 million and grew to over 200 employees. Finally, in 2025, the company raised $415 million, a record for a Nebraska-based company and a symbol of a successful and rapidly expanding model.
