About Five Arrows

The FAPI funds' strategy aims to generate attractive returns while adopting a very conservative approach to risk.

The team focuses on leading companies with defensive characteristics, very predictable revenues, solid organic growth and high margins.

Five Arrows’ differentiating factors

Brand strength

The approach of the FAPI funds rests on seeking an attractive return while minimising risk for investors. This balanced strategy is based on Rothschild & Co’s extensive experience in wealth preservation.

Although the group does not participate in investment decisions, it makes its network available to support the FAPI investment team and its portfolio companies. Rothschild & Co allows FAPI to access more than two thirds of its transactions on a proprietary basis.

Rothschild & Co's reputation and history represent a major asset in the European mid-market sector, and the brand is a major attraction for entrepreneurs and managers.

Extensive mastery of sector themes

The team focuses on leading companies with defensive characteristics, strong revenue visibility, solid organic growth, and high margins.

These companies mainly operate in the software, healthcare and business services sectors, of which the FAPI team has extensive expertise.

A comprehensive business team

With a fund of this size, the business team is well-equipped, with eight members from major consultancy firms (Bain & Company, BCG McKinsey, KPMG, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, etc.) dedicated exclusively to supporting portfolio companies.

Being involved right from the due diligence phase, the POG (Portfolio Operation Group) team plays an active role alongside the management during the first year of ownership.

It puts in place all of the necessary conditions to ensure the success of the value creation plan, such as team structuring, internationalisation, establishing KPIs, examining transformations in sales and marketing, and mapping targets for mergers and acquisitions.

The team remains at the disposal of companies throughout the investment period, and its involvement becomes very important again in the final year for the preparation and optimisation of the exit route.

A pan-European player with a transatlantic advantage

The teams in Europe are made up of 10 different nationalities, speaking 12 languages, which allows them to cover the entire European market, ensure efficient sourcing, and maintain a fluid dialogue with entrepreneurs in all regions.

Additionally, the Five Arrows platform makes its New York office available to the FAPI team, and provides access to its local networks. It does this because the boundaries between the strategies are very clear, defined mainly by the size of the transactions on which the teams are working.

In addition to its brand name advantage, the Rothschild & Co group offers genuine support with global expansion, which is a draw to many entrepreneurs.

The differentiating factors presented reflect the opinions of the Altaroc investment team. Past performance is not a reliable guide to future results.
